Vitreo Retinal Surgery started at Dow University

Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) started Vitreo Retinal Surgery at its Department of Ophthal-mology, Dow University Ojha Campus. The Inauguration of the Surgery was carried out today by Prof. Saleh Memon, Former Professor of JPMC and Director,  Al Ibrahim Eye Hospital, Karachi. The Ceremony was attended by senior ophthalmologists including Prof. Rasheed Khokhar, Prof. Mazhar Ul Hassan, Prof. Shahid Wahab, Prof. M. Masroor, Prof. Rana Qamar, Dr. Sarfaraz and senior faculty members of the university.

Addressing the Cere-mony, Prof. Saleh Memon said that due to lack of facilities at city level and trained doctors in the field the number of diabetes and eye patients are increasing day by day. Vitreo Retinal Surgery is an advanced surgery and to increase the performance and ability of doctors, Dow University and Al Ibrahim Eye Hospital will start rotation of doctors from next week. Later, he appreciated the efforts of Prof. Masood Hameed Khan in starting Vitreo Retinal Surgery at Ojha Campus.

Prof. Masood Hameed Khan, Vice Chancellor, DUHS briefed the participants about pro-gress and developments of the University. The University since its inception has been aim-ing to provide maximum possible health services to the community through various ways.

Prof. Rasheed Khokhar and Prof. Mazhar Ul Hassan also spoke on the occasion.
