German Foreign Minister visited Greenstar’s Afghan Refugee Clinic

His Excellency Mr. Heiko Maas, The German Foreign Minister visited German Government supported Greenstar’s Afghan Refugee Clinic in Islamabad

His Excellency Mr. Heiko Maas, German Foreign Minister visited Greenstar’s Mother and Child Health Center at the Afghan Refugee Camp H-12 in Islamabad on 12th March, 2019. The clinic was built in 2014 with support from the German Government through the KfW. The Clinic has been addressing the Mother and Child Health needs of around twenty thousand Afghan Refugees living in the vicinity of the clinic.

The event was also grace by the Ambassador of German, Honorable Mr. Martin Kobbler, among other Embassy staff, Ms. Marion Pfennigs, the KfW Country Director Mr. Wolfgang Moellers along with Dr. Masuma Zaidi, Senior Project Manager Health.

The Minister lauded the efforts of Greenstar for implementing such projects to bring a positive change in the lives of poor communities and expressed his pleasure for Greenstar’s Team for reaching the most difficult areas of Pakistan with much needed health services

On this occasion, His Excellency Mr. Heiko Maas also inaugurated a Clean Drinking Water Plant at the clinic. The Clean Drinking Water Plant has been developed by the Greenstar for the residents of the Afghan Refugee Camp. The Minister also planted a Araucaria Plant in the clinic to support the Clean and Green Pakistan Campaign.

The ceremony was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Syed Azizur Rab, the CEO of Greenstar Social Marketing, who expressed his gratitude to the German Government for their support for a healthy and prosperous Pakistan; the Minister later participated in a token Cricket match with the children of the Afghan Refugee community.
