Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) established “Gosha-e-Yousufi” at the ground floor of its Learning Resources Centre at DUHS Ojha Campus where a floor has also been designated for the general pubic. Gosha-e-Yousufi is a place comprising of a hall with sofa seating and a designated room for Yousufi saheb’s personal meeting. The place has wall mounts related to abstracts from his books and point of view from various literary figures besides portraits and old photographs of Yousufi sahib.
The Official Inauguration of this place took place eight months back but the practically first event took place recently which was to commemorate the Legendary Writer Mushtaq Ahmed Yousufi on receiving Engro Excellence Award 2010. The ceremony was attended by a large number of people from all walks of life actively participated. The program was hosted by Ms. Huma Bhukhari.
Prof. Rana Qamar Masood, Chief Organizer of the Event and Director-NILGID in her welcome address informed about the concept of Gosha-e-Yousufi and the available facilities provided by the Dow University as its contribution toward literature. She also mentioned that the younger generation needs to be motivated for reading culture, hence Gosha-e-Yousufi has wall mounts of abstracts.
Prof. Masood Hameed Khan, Vice Chancellor-DUHS briefed the audience about the developments which took place at the Dow University during the last six year. He also mentioned briefly the healthcare services provided by the Dow University.
Later on, Barkat Ali Rajput, Arshad Ali, Hasan Fatima, Prof. Innayatullah Khan and Zohra Nigar Saheba narrated few scripts from Mushtaq Yousufi’s books.
Mushtaq Ahmed Yousufi took the dais for more than one hour and the auditorium full to its capacity was spell bound and were amused during the address by the legendary writer.
Dr. Haroon Qasim, Managing Director, PharmaEvo while giving his vote of thanks congratulated Vice Chancellor-DUHS, Prof. Masood Hameed Khan and his team for their progress at DUHS, commitment and motivation for the promotion of literary activities besides all the developments at Dow University of Health Sciences.
In the end, Prof. Masood Hameed Khan presented DUHS memento to Mushtaq Ahmed Yousufi and Huma Bhukhari.
