Control of four blood centres handed over to Sindh Government

Provincial Minister Health Dr Sikandar Mandhro presided the handing and taking over ceremony of four regional blood centers in Sindh established and equipped by German development bank at his office in Sindh assembly.

The documents were signed by German Development Bank representatives Mausuma Zaidi and Zahid Mehmood while from Sindh Health Department side Secretary Health Ahmed Bux Nareejo and Dr Zahid Ansari endorsed.

Minister Health Sikandar Mandhro said that this is a huge development in Sindh to resolve the issues and needs of blood bags. This will also reduce the illegal trade of uncertified blood in allover Sindh.   We are thankful to German authorities to take interest of resolving health issues in Sindh.

The blood centers established at Karachi, Jamshoro, Nawabshah and Sukkur. All the regional centers will cover 6 adjacent districts. Each center has a capacity to store 50 thousands blood bags. This will enhance the capacity to store up to of 2 lac more blood bags in Sindh.

According to details, Blood center established in Qatar Hospital Karachi, Liaquat university medical hospital Jamshoro, Peoples Medical University Nawabshah and Ghulam Muhammad Medical College Sukkur.

The inaugural ceremony of these blood centers will be held in next month after the deployment of staff by Sindh health department. Consul general of Germany in Karachi will also attend the inaugural ceremony.

The ceremony was also attended by MS Nawashah people’s medical hospital Dr Tufail Baloch, AMS Civil hospital Hyderabad Dr Naeem Kazi and others.
