PM National Health Program launched in Kotli, Azad Kashmir

A launching ceremony of Prime Minister’s National Health Program (PMNHP) was held at District Kotli to ensure provision of proper health coverage. Minister for National Health Services, Mrs. Saira Afzal Tarar launched the Program, speaking on the occasion she said that the program would provide quality and free health care services to the poor.

He further informed that “We believe in taking concert measure to address the sufferings of the poor segment of the society and do not relay on slogan. Our politics is the politics of the performance and delivery to the masses. Health insurance was a key aspect of the PML (N) manifesto in 2013 election campaign and Allah Almighty has granted us success in implementing this revolution program.” This is the second district in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, after district Muzaffarabad, where the programme has been launched to provide free indoor health care services for secondary and seven priority diseases to the poor families of the district. With this program more than 79,000 poor families of the district will be provided with free service for indoor treatment through network of empaneled hospitals throughout Pakistan. She congratulated the poor and marginalized population of Azad Jammu & Kashmir for another step toward their prosperity by the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League (N). She assured that the programme would also be started soon in all districts of AJK and Pakistan. She said that through this scheme more than 170,000 families have been enrolled and given health card while more than 4,000 beneficiaries have so far been treated in programs empaneled hospitals. She said overall the program will be launched in 23 districts and will be providing services to 3.2 million families who are living below poverty.
