Siemens launches Project Pakistan

Siemens Pakistan launched “Project Pakistan” with the signing of an agreement with N.E.D. University in the presence of Dr. Michael Koch, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Pakistan.  Under this project Siemens will enter into a partnership with the two leading universities of Pakistan the NED in Karachi and the University of Engineering and Technology in Lahore in Lahore  for supplying latest equipment for their laboratories and arranging training so that students and faculty can reap maximum benefit from this project. A similar agreement will be signed with UET Lahore in the near future.

Under the agreement with NED University, Siemens will be providing its selected laboratory in the electrical faculty with state of the art Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). This would provide students the opportunity to gain hands on experience in such areas as factory automation, process control and energy efficiency and help them seek solutions in these important areas vital to the future of the country. Along with installation Siemens will hold train the trainer programs for the faculty. Giving his impressions on the occasion Engineer Abul. Kalam said that the donation by the company not only spoke highly of Siemens Pakistan and its good corporate citizenship values but also about the selection of the right equipment and the right place to install it.  . The agreement was signed by Sohail Wajahat H. Siddiqui, CEO&MD Siemens Pakistan and Engineer Abul Kalam, Vice Chancellor NED University

Before the signing ceremony the German Ambassador visited the productions sites of Siemens Pakistan and was pleased to learn about the local operations of Siemens in Pakistan and its contribution to the country’s infrastructure since the inception of the country.
