Hamdard Public School organized food mela on the occasion of 94th Birthday of Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said organsied at food mela at its premises. The mela was held one week ahead of his birthday. On this occasion, the Mutawallia of Hamdard Dr. Mahum and Ms. Fatima Uz Zehra were also present.
The Chief Guest Ms. Zubaida Tariq on the occasion said that Hamdard Public School besides education to the students is also providing proper training in very civilized manner, which is commendable effort on the part of School. She wished that every child must study here so that with the education the character building of the child could be developed as well as be aware of the culture.
The Administrator of Hamdard Public School informed that this Food meal has continuously been organized for the last 12 years. Headmistress Ms Saba Khalid said this food mela has become a tradition of this school which motive is to pay tribute to the founder of Hamdard Public School Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said on his birthday. The children anxiously wait for this mela throughout the year and enthusiastically participate.
On this occasion an essay competition was also arranged amongst the students on the topic of sayings of Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said. The winners were given away the cash prizes.
Ms. Mehreen Masood said that the purpose of this mela is to assemble the students and teach them how to manage thing in their daily life, because Hakim Sahib himself was a great administrator as well, the outcome of his great leadership and administration is seen in the form of the is city of education and learning. She admired the efforts of the schools that have very decorated their stall industriously and hopefully will try next time to improve the efforts.
Later on the Chief Guest accompanying with Dr. Mahum and Ms. Fatemauz Zehra visited 35 stall of different and showed their keen interest in the handicrafts made by the Hamdard Village School.
On this occasion the Vice Chancellor of Hamdard University Prof. Dr. Hakim Abdul Hannan, Dean Faculty of Eastern Medicine Prof. Hakim Shahabuddin, Dy.Director Programs Hamdard Foundation also attended the mela along with parents of the students.
