SIUT celebrates world children day

Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) and Pakistan Youth Forum (PYF) jointly celebrate World Children’s Day at SIUT

SIUT and PYF in a joint collaboration organized an event “Spreading Smiles” exclusively for the sick children being treated at the Paediatric wards in SIUT.

The event was held to observe ‘World Children’s Day’ as a day of worldwide fraternity and understanding between children and of activities promoting the welfare of the world’s children. In all about 150 participants joyfully enjoyed the entire day’s proceedings.

The staff and volunteers of SIUT and PYF tastefully decorated the wards and thoroughly entertained the young children admitted in the institute by arranging a vast array of fun filled activities. Chiefly amongst others, these included face/hands paintings on the children of multicolored fancy designs and cartoon images as requested by them according to their choices. Exquisite magic shows were arranged with a variety of spectacular and enthralling tricks which really enchanted the children. A fabulous movie session featuring latest phenomenal block buster cartoon film ‘RIO’ was screened at the huge screen of Agha Hassan Abidi Auditorium much to the sheer delight of the children. To invigorate the aesthetic skills, different drawing/sketching exercises were carried out with the aid of plain/colored pencils, crayons/paints etc. Finally, sumptuous healthy refreshments and delightful gifts were provided to all the children.

 Speaking on the occasion, SIUT’s Professor Dr. Anwar Naqvi said on the need of investment in the children in the forms of time, quality education, good health, value building etc. which shall be immensely beneficial as they are the future of the country. The representatives of Pakistan Youth Forum Ms. Sanam Ashraf, Ms. Tooba Hatif, Mr. Syed Fahad Ali and Mr. Syed Arsalan Ashraf also expressed their views and besides highlighting the aims, visions and aspirations of their forum also reiterated their commitment for any such future programs.

 SIUT’s Prof. Dr. Naqi Zafar welcomed the gathering and specially thanked the members of Pakistan Youth Forum and the SIUT staff for their contributions in ensuring a high quality event.

 This sincere effort on the part of SIUT and PYF was a huge success manifested by the radiant cheerful smiles and glowing faces of these sick children, reflecting the fact that the day was a very memorable and special experience for them and one which would be etched in their memories forever.
