Sindh Govt. to launch ambulance service across the province

Sindh Health Minister, Dr. Sikandar Mandhro has said that the Government of Sindh is taking concrete step by launching of modern and fully equipped ambulance service ‘Sindh Peoples Ambulance Service –SPAS’ to save the precious lives of poor patients. This he said while addressing gathering at press Club in connection with the operation of SPA Service in Thatta and Sujawal districts with 1036 toll free number with the support of Aman Foundation.

He further informed that this ambulance service with 25 ambulances is providing emergency services to the poor and needy patients in Thatta and Sujawal since March 2017. The service would be extended throughout the Sindh and it would start its operation in Badin and Tando Muhmmad Khan very soon at same radio frequency and Tharparkar respectively. Within 3 years, it would be with 250 fleets in Sindh and will provide emergency facilities to the people. This ambulance service is equipped with latest medical technology to facilitate the needy patients at large. He stressed the media to play vital role to highlight the project service to aware the maximum numbers in Sindh to get facilities and benefits from the service.

Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Sindh Information Minister said that Chief Minister Sindh under the vision of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has taken a concrete measures for the betterment of people at every level of health and education sector. He is giving special attention and focused to improve the living conditions of people by launching of public oriented projects and initiatives like Sindh Peoples Ambulance Service. He said that Sindh Government like this has also imitated many other development programs in various fields and sectors.

Malik Ahmed Jalal, CEO Aman Foundation briefed the participants about the salient features of the ambulance service and its operation in Thatta and Sujawel districts with 25 ambulances. He said that it will provide 9400 patients to hospitals in Karachi through the service. Furthermore, 250 local people were recruited for the service after training of basic health care system.

Documentary was also witnessed by the audience. Secretary Health Dr. Fazlullah Pechuho, Secretary Information Imran Atta Soomro and Others attended the event.
