Nursing Honor Society Wins International Award

Rho Delta Chapter at Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan has received Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International awards of Showcase of Regional Excellence. The chapter was honored at a recent reception held at Hyatt Regency Indianapolis, Ind., USA in September 2008

The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International, one of the largest international nursing organizations, works to foster, develop and connect nurse scholars and leaders worldwide to improve health care. The honor society promotes nursing excellence through its initiatives in research, leadership, an electronic library, programming and publications and develops and distributes nursing knowledge for use in practice.

Chapter was selected as the award winner in recognition of raising awareness  for parents, children and health care professionals concerning prevention of child abuse in Pakistan, Creating and maintaining a professional quality environment facilitating health and well being of nurses, quality patient outcome, and organizational performance and Sharing Resources and Making Connections: Strengthening Members Knowledge about STTI Vision 2020.

 The award was one of only a few given by the honor society this year to recognize outstanding programs organized by local chapters. President Ms Khairunnissa Hooda received the awards.
