NEW AMBULANCE SERVICE LAUNCHED IN TWO SINDH DISTRICTS

Govt of Sindh in collaboration with Aman Foundation launched Sindh Peoples Ambulance Service in two districts of Sindh Province. The service launched in Sujawal and Thatta can be reached by calling 1036. The service has been started with 25 ambulances equipped with basic life support facilities. Of the 25 ambulances, 12 have been given to Thatta and 10 to Sujawal, while three have been kept as a backup.

Speaking at the launching ceremony at CM House, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah lauded former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari for being the architect of public-private partnership in Sindh. He informed that the Co-Chairperson guided the Sindh government to launch megaprojects through public-private partnership mode because the provincial government had meagre resources to take them up and the government has through public-private partnership, launched megaprojects such as the Jhirk-Mulakatiar Bridge on River Indus and Hyderabad-Mirpurkhas Road.

He further informed that he was working hard to improve education and health services in the province. “This is the first step – the launch of an ambulance service in partnership with Aman Foundation in Thatta and Sujawal. A similar service would be started in each and every district of the province,” he vowed, assuring that the Sindh government would provide the best health services to the people in every corner of the province.

Chairman of Pakistan People Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the Sindh government has realized the dream of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto by launching state-of-art Sindh Peoples Ambulance service to improve health services in Thatta and Sujawal.

Others who spoke on the occasion included Health Secretary Fazlullah Pechuho, who briefed the participants of the event on the operation of the service, and Aman Foundation Chief Executive Officer Malik Ahmed Jalal, who spoke about the operation of his service and assured participants that the service in Thatta and Sujawal would be very efficient and effective.
