Keen interest show in training workshop organized by UNFPA

To build the capacity of humanitarian team including UN agencies, NGOs and concerned government staff in Sindh on integration of Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) in Crises, SPRINT in collaboration with UNFPA, USAID organized a 2-day program recently in Karachi  for Training of team of master trainers to address the challenges for scalling up of MISP.

Dr. Naseer Nizami, Assistant Country Manager, UNFPA said that it is happy to see that the participants have shown keen interest in the training workshop. It creates more dynamism because people from different sector participates for training. The issue of reproductive health is totally forgotten.

The recent flood disaster in Pakistan is completely beyond our understanding. Government should be prepared for any such emergency. There is need to develop strategy to work for sexual and reproductive health issues.

The workshop was an excellent forum for training of healthcare providers from civil society and as well as government because civil society play a major role.

Speaking at the concluding session of the Training Program, Dr. M. Ahmed Essa, Senior Reproductive Health Advisor, USAID Pakistan in his address appreciated and acknowledged the efforts of UNFPA and other partners in organizing this learning workshop. This workshop would help us in capacity building on integration MISP for sexual and reproductive health.
