Bozen, Sud-Tirol, Italy – January 3rd, 2011. Health Robotics today announced record-breaking annual results in North America, as reported by our partners McKesson and Health Robotics Canada Inc. (HRCI), including new 4Q2010 North American contracts for 2 CytoCare, 2 i.v.STATION, and 1 I.V. Room of the Future projects, bringing Health Robotics’ total to 31 new American contracted installations in 2010, compared to 1 new contract announced by all direct competitors combined within the same 12-month period, and also in contrast to zero contracts delivered by our prior American distribution channels during 2009, before the sales and service channel upgrades to McKesson and HRCI took place.
“Thanks to our partners McKesson and HRCI, we had an outstanding start-up year of operations in the United States and Canada, despite our prior announcement that the company had maxed out its American manufacturing and installation slots for 2010. We now look forward to resume full North-American marketing and installation efforts during 2011 after our American service-channel partners and employees have recently completed Italy-based technical training for i.v.STATION and i.v.SOFT. After reaching the milestone of 100 contracted installations last Summer, we are confident in doubling this mark within 9 months and attaining 200 global contracted installations by the end of 1Q2011” stated Gaspar DeViedma, Health Robotics’ Executive Vice President.
New CytoCare customers in North America include U Mass Memorial Medical Center and Ohio Health’s Riverside Methodist Hospital. CytoCare continues to be the world’s first and only robotic system proven to ever work in the safe and sterile preparation of patient-specific hazardous IV Admixtures, and now reaching 57 worldwide contracted installations for Cancer Therapy Sterile Compounding, including 5 in North America.
Additionally, Health Robotics recorded new contracts for installations of 2 more i.v.STATION robots at The University of Chicago Medical Center and Cottage Health System in Santa Barbara (CA), the latter purchasing its second i.v.STATION robot after the successful installation of its first robot during 2010. With 29 contracted installations to date, i.v.STATION has quickly become the world leader in its field within a year after its launch, surpassing all of its competitors’ combined installations for the past 20 years.
Finally, The University of Chicago Medical Center signed a new sole-source agreement for the I.V. Room of the Future, including its Chief Pharmacy Officer participation in Health Robotics’ Scientific Advisory Board, joining The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Ochsner Clinic Foundation, USC University Hospital, and Sutter Health-Sacramento-Sierra Region, and other institutions outside North America.
