Health Minister pays surprise visit to Civil Hospital

Sindh Minister for Health, Dr Sikandar Mandhero paid a surprise visit to Civil Hospital Khairpur, Cardiac Emergency Center and inspected the affairs of the hospital on Wednesday night. The minister also visited each and every bed in the emergency, surgical wards, Operation Theater, Labour room etc and expressed dissatisfaction over the cleanliness said that poor patients need attention and the doctors should ensure that they are Maseeha and should work with renewed spirit to attend the ailing humanity.

He said that the health delivery system is being improved at primary and secondary healthcare level in order to reduce the ever increasing burden on the tertiary health care system. The preference trends are being discouraged and district and divisional healthcare system are reorganized and improved to respond a effectively to the healthcare needs at their respective level. In addition to free emergency health cover the government was mulling to provide free healthcare to diseases such as cancer, diabetes and hepatic etc.

The Minister expressed anguished over the indiscipline, mismanagement and poor cleanliness in the hospitals and directed the administration to pay attention to improve the situation. Efforts were being made to operationalize the close healthcare units throughout the province so that the villagers could get access to healthcare at their doorsteps. On the occasion, Dr Syed Mehdi Shah, Dr Razia Panhwar, Dr Muhammad Hussain Abro and other were also present.
