GOVERNOR SINDH DISTRIBUTES LAPTOPS AMONG STUDENTS OF KU & SMBBMU

Sindh Governor, Muhammad Zubair under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme Phase II, handed over laptops to 40 outstanding students of Karachi University and 153 laptops among male and female students at the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU) Larkana campus in Areeja village at the Ceremonies held at the respective institutes.

Addressing the Sindh Governor, Muhammad Zubair said the PM scheme is helping in the promotion of education. Laptops have emerged as an essential requirement for research-based, modern day, high education. It is also to ensure that students enrolled in Bachelor’s, Master’s, MPhil, PhD and DAE programmes gain easy access to information technology.

“This is definitely a prerequisite for improved performance of any centre of higher education,” he said reiterating that both federal and provincial governments must join hands in the endeavour. The varsity is producing highly-talented individuals and it is a matter of pride. These University’s graduates are working in several other countries, including the US and the UK apart from Pakistan

Karachi University Vice Chancellor Muhammad Ajmal Khan, while expressing his pleasure to have a KU alum as its chancellor and governor of the province, referred to series of problems faced by its administration, teachers and the students. He said 2000 KU students are expected to receive the gadget under phase three of the PM’s Laptop scheme.

Ten position holders of the university, including Saqib Zaheer, Pushma Salim, Shazma Ali, Reema Reshma. Rahul, Sumera. Faiza Aijaz, Maria, Ghulam Datagir and Nausheen Abro, were also invited on a visit to the Governor House.
