Governor Sindh announces setting up Diabetes Research Centre

Governor Sindh, Dr. Ishratul Ibad Khan announced establishing diabetes research centre at the Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) Ojha Campus and hoped it would help Pakistan sharing the international research efforts on this disease. He made this announcement while talking to foreign delegates of three-day International Conference on Diabetes who called on him at Governor’s House. Prof. Dr. Masood Hameed, Vice Chancellor DUHS accom-panied the delegates.

Sindh Health Minister Dr. Sagheer Ahmed, Secretary Health Hashim Raza Zaidi and Director National Insisute of Diabetes and Endocrinolgy, DUHS Prof. Dr. Zaman Shaikh were also present. President-elect International Diabetes Federation Sir Michael Hirst, who led the delegation, exchanged views with the Governor Sindh on Research and Treatment of the Diabetes. The Delegates urged for creating awareness among  people living in far-flung areas of country. Governor Sindh informed the delegates about introduction of telemedicine in the country and said the entire World had to join hands for combating this Diabetes.
