Education Expo to be an Important Milestone For Education Sector – Governor Sindh

Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair has said that the proposed education expo this year would be an important mile stone in education sector in Pakistan as it would bring together all stock holders engaged in this sectors ie. universities, teachers and students. This he said while talking with a delegation of Rizhao and Binzhou Polytechnics of China at Governor House, Karachi. The delegation members included Vice President Binzhou Polytechnic Xuan Yonghua, Wang Jinbo, Liu Jian and Li Wenyan, Vice President Rizhao Polytechnic Han Zhen, Wang Fen, Mou Shengyong, Liu Xiangze and Lei Yuefeng.

The participation of Chinese academic institutions, close cooperations between universities of China & Pakistan and specially those situated in Sindh were discussed in detail during the meeting. Governor Sindh while lauding April’s education expo said that the presence of more than 100 Chinese educational institutions would make it a successful endeavour. He assured his full cooperation and assistance in holding of this expo.

While praising China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Governor Sindh said that CPEC is another proof of close bilateral relations and friendship of two countries which is being cemented by every passing moment.
Governor Sindh offered cooperation of public sector universities of the province for promoting the cause of CPEC and said that we are ready to assist in this regard by arranging seminars, workshops lectures and training sessions. He also offered Chinese Universities to establish their campuses in education city as it would be another mile stone in promotion of higher education in Sindh.
Governor Sindh said that Karachi is the economic hub of Pakistan and after establishment of law & order in this megapolis, there were very condusive atmosphere of investment. Efforts are being made to return Karachi to its past glory by holding social, cultural educational, recreational and sports activities here, he added.
Citing the example of recently held international media conference, Governor Sindh said that an International Squash Tournament and Pakistan International Film Festival would be held in next two months, prior to education expo. These events are aimed at making Karachi the vibrant and city of lights of recent past, he added He said that CPEC is a game changer in real sense, not only for China and Pakistan but also for the whole region. China is an economic superpower and Pakistan could learn a lot from its experiences in every sector, he added.

Governor Sindh was informed that both the institutions have signed memorandum of understands (MoUs) for the promotion of education with Bahria University, DHA Suffa University, Iqra University, Sir Syed University and Indus University while the same with IBA is in the process of negotiations. It was further informed that as may as 14000 students are enrolled in Rizhao having 904 faculty. It is providing education in Finance, Business Management, Engineering, Tourism and other sectors, it was further informed. Governor Sindh was also informed that Binzhou has an enrolment of over 15000 students with 949 faculty members and it has 41 departments in Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine, Finance, Architecture, Arts and Navigation.
