Chinese Consul General donates ambulance to KMC

Consul General of China Wang Yu visited the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation head office to donate an ambulance to the KMC. Mayor Wasim Akhtar handed over the key of the ambulance to the medical superintendent of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital expressing hope that this modern ambulance would be used for patients. Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Saifur Rehman, Chairperson Medical and Health Committee Naheed Fatima, Senior Director Coordination Masood Alam, Senior Director Medical and Health Services Dr. Beerbal, MS KIHD and ASH and other officers were also present on the occasion.

Sharing his view on the occasion, Wasim Akhtar said China and Pakistan have exemplary friendship and the Chinese nation always helped Pakistan whether it is CPEC or other projects in health and other sectors.  He informed that the ambulance was purchased in Quetta and equipped with latest equipments and facilities in Karachi at a cost ofRs6.1 million and this amount was given by the Chinese consul general. He said they were already working for betterment of the city with the cooperation of various organisations.

He thanked the Chinese diplomat for giving the donation of the ambulance to the KMC.

Consul General of China said China was providing help to Karachi in the fields of transport, housing, infrastructure development and heritage protection. He expressed hope that the ambulance would provide convenience to people in Karachi and this cooperation will continue.

Meanwhile, Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar also inspected drain-cleaning works at different locations including Liaquatabad, Nazimabad, Chaman Cinema, Bara Board, Kashmiri Mohalla, Purana Golimar and Lyari Expressway.
