Barrett Hodgson Pakistan, a leading name in the Pakistan Pharmaceutical companies recently held its Annual Sales Conference in two mega cities of Pakistan, Karachi and Lahore to commemorate two billion sales achievement.

To appreciate the successful closing of the year 2008-09 and mark a strong beginning of the year 2009-10 the conference was well participated by 550 Sales and Marketing team members along with senior staff members from the head office. Barrett Hodgson Pakistan has registered a tremendous growth over last year with sales turnover of PKR 2 billion. The achievement of 2 billion landmark made this year’s conference even bigger, special and more memorable.

Dr. M. S. Habib, Group Chairman of the company inaugurated the session with his words of wisdom and guidance. He reiterated his vision and highlighted the importance of people behind every success and commended the all-out efforts of his team led by Dr. Iram Afaq.

He appreciated the successful closing of the year 2008-09 and congratulated the entire team on achieving a landmark in the pharmaceutical industry. He also threw light on the current economic situation and emphasized on the paramount need to work even harder to achieve personal and professional goals thus adding value to the company and also becoming a contributing factor in Pakistan’s economy.

Dr. Iram Afaq, Group Deputy Chairman and CEO in her address appreciated the achievement of 2 billion landmark. She took audience through the path; company has been following with “Speed and Growth” and highlighted the importance of dynamism to adapt in ever changing world with passion and belief to achieve the set objectives individually and as a team. She also informed the way to achieve the strategic intent by investing both in resources and people to develop a team to Lead.

Dr. Iram Afaq also updated the audience on the charity work of The Salim Habib Education Foundation, which has initiated in the form of The Barrett Hodgson International School which is near completion on six acre land in Karachi. The School would start from August 2010. The Karachi campus is followed by another School at Toba Tek Singh on three acre land – the foundation stone of which has already been laid. She informed that this is in accordance with Dr. Habib’s commitment to build educational institutions all over Pakistan and one of the forthcoming project is the State of the art University of Emerging Sciences in Karachi.

Following Dr. Iram Afaq, the Managing Director of BHP, Dr. Hasan Tharani and Sales Director, Syed Shakeel Ahmed also spoke on the occasion. Dr. Hasan Tharani took the audience through the current market situation and emphasized on the need of focused and well directed professional efforts to achieve personal, professional and company’s objectives. He also shared the plans of launching new products in the current year. Shakeel Ahmed reviewed the sales achievements and discussed key strategies to achieve the set goals for the year 2009-10.

Barrett Hodgson continued with its traditions of rewarding the successful performers of the year from Sales, Marketing and other departments by rewarding them with medals, prizes and cash awards. This year the formation and announcement of “Elite Club” was also made to acknowledge the efforts of the above boards performances of our sales team members. Furthermore to acknowledge the achievement of the best performers of the year 2008-09 a special foreign trip was announced.

The day of the conference was concluded with a Gala Dinner hosted by the management of BHP. The gala dinner was followed by musical extravaganza. The next two days were dedicated to trainings and skills development.

We wish Barrett Hodgson to continue this extravaganza in years with speed and growth to follow the mission that “Barrett Hodgson Pakistan while maintaining its entrepreneurial posture would remain sympathetic to the ailing humanity”.
