Pakistan Society of Gastroenterology and G.I. Endoscopy organized a 3-day 29th International Gastroenterology and GI Endoscopy Congress at a local hotel in Lahore.
Senior Gastroenterologist and family physicians from across the country and abroad were present on the occasion. Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique was the chief guest on the occasion.
Khawaja Salman Rafique sharing his views on the occasion has said that knowledge and professional expertise of the doctors play a pivotal role in preventing diseases and providing best medical facilities to the patients.
He further said that the incident of Hepatitis B & C is increasing day by day; therefore, doctors organisations should play their active role for the prevention of the diseases. He said that treatment is not only expensive but also a complicated procedure while prevention is more economical and easy than cure.
He acknowledged the efforts Pakistan Society of Gastroenterology and G.I. Endoscopy in research on gastroenterology diseases and prevention of hepatitis B & C in Pakistan.
He said that the society is not only imparting knowledge to the local professionals and updating them on the latest international research but also creating awareness among the masses regarding preventive measures.
Earlier, Prof. Ghayas Un Nabi Tayyab, President, Prof. Israrul Haq Toor, Organising Secretary and Prof. Asif Mehmood Siddiqui also spoke on the occasion. Moreover documentaries on diagnoseand treatment through GastroEndoscopy was also shown to the participants.
